My name is Pat Sandy. I’m a cartoonist.
It’s possible you’ve seen my work around. I’ve designed thousands of greeting cards for the social expressions industry over the past 30 years. I’ve also done magazine cartoons, illustrated a few children’s books, did some editorial cartooning, and developed a number of comic strips, several of which, came oh-so-close. I also have a band. We play blues, swing and classic stuff.
For those who follow the ‘client’ list thing, it includes American Greetings, Papyrus, Wall St. Journal, Good Housekeeping, Playboy, Woman’s World, Lerner Publishing, etc. to name a few.
So what kind of blog is this? Is it a cartoon thing? Commentary? Nonsense? Nah – it’s just me and my cartoons and sometimes my illustrations…and often, a completely unfiltered, unvarnished look into my creative process…as I mentioned in my very first post, “Lake Effect” is kind of my cartoonist IPO.
I try and post a cartoon/doodle/illustration/thought as often as I can…and sometimes I may toss in some life observation, or comment. But it’s a little piece ‘o Pat every day.
In my spare time (lol…’spare time’), I collect baseball cards and comic books and watch way too much TV. When it comes to french fries, I’m a McDonald’s guy, I prefer seeing movies at a theatre, and I think that Swenson’s in Akron should be declared a national treasure.
Want to hire me for that next big Quantum Analytics project? Maybe I’m not your guy. But, if you want some cartoons…or a pretty ginchy illustration for your next piece of editorial magnificence…or simply a custom commissioned cartoon or caricature…fire off an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While you’re at it, check out my website, www.patsandy.com, for a further look-see at what I do…
Needless to say, (but i’ll say it anyway), all material on Lake Effect is copyright 2012 by Pat Sandy…but feel free to reblog/share/mention and otherwise pass along.
